Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gottlieb Hiebknecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gateusz Mamrot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gateusz Mamrot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gottlieb Hiebknecht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gateusz Mamrot!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiebknecht throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Mamrot has closed the distance and engaged Hiebknecht in a clinch.

Mamrot manages to break the clinch.
Hiebknecht keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mamrot shoots in for a double leg but Hiebknecht sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hiebknecht changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mamrot takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hiebknecht scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mamrot doesn't seem bothered though.
Hiebknecht bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mamrot's head backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mamrot looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hiebknecht gets back to full guard.

Hiebknecht is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mamrot is aware though and is defending well.

Mamrot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hiebknecht has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mamrot has managed to get both his arms back between Hiebknecht's legs - danger averted.

Hiebknecht knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mamrot on the ground.

Hiebknecht is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hiebknecht bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mamrot's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mamrot can't keep his opponent in guard - Hiebknecht advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hiebknecht is trying to control. Mamrot wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mamrot is looking for a sweep. Hiebknecht is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hiebknecht is looking to take a break and control but Mamrot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hiebknecht seems to be working for a kimura but Mamrot defends the submission attempt.
Mamrot is trying to control but can't.

Hiebknecht is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mamrot doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hiebknecht.

Hiebknecht is working for a submission of some sort.

Hiebknecht is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hiebknecht looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hiebknecht wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mamrot keeps working.

Hiebknecht is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mamrot wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mamrot takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hiebknecht with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Mamrot ducks right into an uppercut from Hiebknecht.
Hiebknecht stuffs the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gottlieb Hiebknecht dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mamrot gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hiebknecht looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hiebknecht lands a jab to Mamrot's midsection.
Hiebknecht ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mamrot moves away.
Hiebknecht slaps away a takedown attempt from Mamrot, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hiebknecht paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hiebknecht throws out a powerful jab.
Hiebknecht thuds his right hand into Mamrot's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hiebknecht lands a jab.
Mamrot on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Gateusz Mamrot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hiebknecht connects with a body shot.
Hiebknecht takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Gottlieb Hiebknecht is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mamrot is rocked!
Mamrot is breathing heavily.
Hiebknecht scores with a jab to the head.
Mamrot is still on wobbly legs! Can Hiebknecht finish him?
Hiebknecht is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mamrot can do to turn this around?
Mamrot drops his hands momentarily. Hiebknecht doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Mamrot staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Mamrot doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gottlieb Hiebknecht!
A relieved looking Gottlieb Hiebknecht thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
