Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurmas Uusisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uusisto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: System Of A Down - B.Y.O.B.. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
36 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jurmas Uusisto! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Uusisto on the side of the head. James looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. James tries to move into range but Uusisto moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Uusisto looks to throw the jab but James is out of range. James scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Jurmas Uusisto has been cut. James lands a head kick. Uusisto smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Rick James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Uusisto. Uusisto feints the counter takedown. Uusisto fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. James sprawls well initially but Uusisto persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Uusisto slows the pace down in half guard. Uusisto is keen to just control but James is a slippery customer. James is trying to stand back up but Uusisto is controlling him
James is concentrating on defense, preventing Uusisto from advancing position. The fighters are battling for position here. James manages to regain full guard. Nice work. James working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Uusisto. Uusisto works a leg free and moves into half guard. Uusisto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but James does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. James is in trouble now - Uusisto has advanced to mount! James working to try and regain half guard.

Uusisto walks into a jab. Uusisto throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily. Uusisto thows a left - swing and a miss! As Uusisto backs away, James returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Uusisto dodges the punch combination from James.
Uusisto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before James can pounce on him.
James has closed the distance and engaged Uusisto in a clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Uusisto creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. James pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Uusisto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
James walks into a straight right hand from Uusisto. Uusisto stalks James and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into James's face. James staggers backwards, shaken. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Uusisto was well out of range. Poor timing from James. James ducks under a wild hook from Uusisto. Uusisto clinches up with James and pushes him back against the cage. Good body shot from James.

James misses with a hook from the clinch. Uusisto is trying to break the clinch but James is controlling him. Uusisto swings wildly with an uppercut but James uses good head movement to avoid it. James throws a knee to the head but misses.

James cracks Uusisto with a nice body shot. Uusisto throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Uusisto is looking to control James's arms but James gets an underhook and turns him. Now Uusisto has his back to the cage. Uusisto pushes James back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Uusisto tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. James lands a hook to the side of the head. A head punch on the inside from James fails to land. James is trying to stall.
James is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Uusisto is keeping busy. James tries to land knees in the clinch but Uusisto avoids the damage to the body. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jurmas Uusisto will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Jurmas Uusisto's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
James throws a nice looking combination but Uusisto bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Uusisto throws a low kick but James avoids it. James misses with a double jab.

Uusisto has been the more effective fighter overall so far. James thows a body kick. Uusisto tries to catch it but that hurt him. A low kick from James is predictable there and Uusisto counters with a nice double leg into guard. James utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Uusisto wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. James preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
James can't keep his opponent in guard - Uusisto advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Uusisto stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Uusisto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Uusisto's back! James is trying to stick to Uusisto's back but Uusisto is turning into James. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in James's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Uusisto. Jurmas Uusisto has got the better of the ground game so far. James is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Uusisto lands a couple of decent looking shots. James is looking to stand up but Uusisto isn't so interested in that idea. Uusisto trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Uusisto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. James looking to hit a scissor sweep but Uusisto is one step ahead there. James keeping full guard, as Uusisto tries to pass. Uusisto pushing down on James's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

James is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Uusisto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Uusisto sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. James defending well though. James is trying to stand up here but Uusisto is controlling him well. Uusisto is stalling here. James is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Uusisto seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and James has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. James tries to stand but Uusisto is controlling his head. Jurmas Uusisto is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And Uusisto tries to counter it with a takedown but James pushes his down on his head and steps out. James takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. James tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Uusisto pushes James away with a front kick. James throws a head kick but Uusisto moves out of range.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Uusisto is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in James's half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Uusisto trying to mount his opponent but James defends it.
And that's the end of the fight! Jurmas Uusisto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Uusisto winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
