Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stanly Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes into the arena with Kenny Loggins - I'm free blaring out of the sound system. Khan has chosen Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanly Williams ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Genghis Khan! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A chopping leg kick lands by Williams . Williams tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Khan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard. Khan throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Khan is pulling down on Williams 's head. It's preventing any offense from Williams , at least for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khan keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. Khan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams postures up in Khan's guard and throws a big left but Khan blocks it. Khan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Khan moves out of range of the body kick from Williams .

That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Williams but Williams pushes him off and we're back to square one. Khan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Stanly Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genghis Khan. Williams stuffs the takedown attempt from Khan. Khan gets slowly back to his feet. Williams appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We've been hearing good reports from Williams 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Khan is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is looking for a kimura but Khan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Williams to get the leverage. Williams lands with a punch from half guard. Williams trying to control the action but Khan is working from the bottom. Khan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Khan. Khan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Khan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams 's head. Khan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Khan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Williams has managed to free his arm - good work. Khan prevents Williams from improving his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nice strikes from Khan there. Williams moves into full guard.

Stanly Williams dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Williams takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Khan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Williams . Williams obviously looking to wear him down.
Khan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Williams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Khan off and has taken his back! Williams is working the ground and pound. Can Khan escape? Williams scores with punches to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Khan wants to control his opponent's hands but Williams gets his hands free. Khan is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Khan keeps trying to improve his position. Khan is trying to remain composed but Williams is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Williams controlling well, preventing Khan from escaping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Williams gets his way!
Williams is punishing Khan with strikes - can he finish him?! Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Williams .

Stanly Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Khan prevents Williams from improving his position.

Khan is keen to just control but Williams is a slippery customer. Khan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Khan seems to be looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khan throwing shots but Williams is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Khan seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Williams misses with a kick to the body.
Khan was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Williams keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stanly Williams will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Williams shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Khan is trying to defend but Williams finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Williams is taking a breather. Khan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Khan is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Khan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Williams is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Khan misses with a hook. Williams has a takedown stuffed. Williams dives in and grabs Khan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Khan pushes down on Williams 's head and hops out. Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Khan wants to sweep but no luck. Khan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Williams with a flurry of punches that miss. Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Khan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams content to stall in guard here. Williams is in close to Khan's body, working some short punches and elbows. Genghis Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Williams passes easily into side control. Nice work. Williams tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Khan is trying to control Williams 's posture but Williams avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight! Stanly Williams showed his dominance in that final round. Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
