Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between RJ Cast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Blink 182 feat Robert Smith - All of This as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Robert Smith is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cast is looking to clinch.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cast lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Cast bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Smith! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Smith is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cast lands a couple of elbows.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Cast finish him?

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Cast pushes him off.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cast paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith blocks a jab.
Cast rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Smith blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Cast lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Cast stalling in the clinch but Smith improves position.

Cast is trying to maintain a safe position but Smith gets an underhook and turns Cast into the cage.

The fighters circle momentarily. Smith darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Smith swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cast.

Cast on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.

Cast tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cast changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Cast manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cast gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Cast shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cast takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Smith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smith chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nice shot lands for Smith.
Cast tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Cast can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cast. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
