Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Haley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Hong! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haley avoids the head kick by Hong.
Haley ducks under a wild hook from Hong. Hong lets loose with a powerful body kick. Haley will feel that in the morning. Haley digs a good hook to Hong's body.
Haley has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Pearson Spector Litt in the buildup to the fight. Haley misses with a leg kick. Haley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haley manages to get himself to full guard.
Hong throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hong looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Haley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Haley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hong controlling from the top position. Haley wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hong wants to control from the top but Haley keeps moving. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hong moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Dan Haley has been cut. Hong throws a body shot but no joy. Haley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hong.

Hong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hong thows a left - swing and a miss! Haley throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hong counters with a thumping low kick. Haley throws a body punch but Hong moves out of range. Haley throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Haley throws a jab when Hong was well out of range. Hong misses with an uppercut. Haley saw that one coming. Antonio Hong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. An inside leg kick from Hong misses. Haley shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hong eats them both and turns towards Haley to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Haley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hong was well out of range. Poor timing from Haley. Haley is looking to wear down Hong with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Good leg kick by Haley there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Haley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Haley takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hong misses with a hook
and Haley counters with a takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Haley looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hong is avoiding damage well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hong takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Haley is trying to ground and pound but Hong uses the momentary lack of control by Haley to regain half guard. Haley working the head and body with strikes. Hong is not content to let Haley control the position. Haley is looking to stall here but Hong recovers full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Haley dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dan Haley's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Haley moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Hong thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A looping hook to the body misses from Haley. Hong does a little dance to reset his feet. A bone on bone clash there as Haley blocks the leg kick.
Haley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Haley somewhat. Haley with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. A leg kick checked by Haley. Hong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hong bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Haley's head. Hong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hong misses with a body kick. Haley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hong but Hong pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Haley.

Haley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hong moves away. Hong moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Good work by Haley as he checks the leg kick.

Hong misses with a lunging right hand
and Haley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hong's guard. Hong working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Haley. Hong tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Haley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hong swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hong looking to control.
Haley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hong works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Haley wants to control from the top but Hong keeps moving. Haley working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haley is pushing down on Hong's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hong is fighting to maintain full guard but Haley has managed to sneak the leg through. Dan Haley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Haley not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hong looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hong tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Haley has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Hong is trying to escape the mount.

Antonio Hong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hong needs to keep his hands up - Haley had a free shot at his head there. Hong misses with a hook
and Haley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Haley. Hong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haley is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haley slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Haley advances nicely into full mount. Haley working the ground and pound effectively.
Hong is squirming around, avoiding Haley's attempts to control the action. Haley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hong is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haley lands a big elbow - Hong is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Hong is forced to tap out!
