Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Joy Division - Atmosphere. Alves is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Trik Turner - Friends and Family. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Bobby Bruce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddy Alves! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruce throws a right and a left that both miss. Alves has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bruce is landing a low percentage of strikes. Alves shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bruce is trying to defend but Alves finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Alves missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Alves landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Alves tries to pass to full mount but Bruce defends it. Alves is trying to control the action in half guard but Bruce is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bruce's head. Alves sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bruce defending well though. Bruce wants to control the action here but instead Alves manages to pass to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruce is trying desperately to improve position. Alves lands a big shot there that rocks Bruce but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bruce blocking the ground and pound. Bruce wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Alves.
Alves has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bruce's face.
Bruce tries to hold on but Alves postures up. Alves with shots to the head and body - Bruce looks very uncomfortable down there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves cracks Bruce with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bruce wants to control but Alves is having none of it. Bruce blocking the ground and pound. Bruce has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Bruce is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Alves prevents Bruce from getting the reversal. Alves trying to control but he's not successful this time. Bruce takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Alves thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves raining down hammerfists from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bruce tries to lock up and control but Alves gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Alves throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bruce because Alves loaded up on that one. Poor strikes thrown by Alves there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Alves fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Alves is in the full mount, landing strikes. Alves avoids the attempt from Bruce to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves looking to finish with strikes here!
Alves looking to finish Bruce with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bruce! Alves scoring with strikes but Bruce is staying in there. Alves misses with a head shot. Bruce is looking to improve his position but Alves isn't that keen on the idea. Alves is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bruce can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bruce is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alves postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Bruce in real trouble here! The ref calls for Bruce to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddy Alves! A very excited looking Freddy Alves made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. Bobby Bruce was interviewed post fight and said 'I only lose to good fighters, this guy deserves my respect!'.
