Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kim Marcos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Marcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodrigo Marcon! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcos gets a clinch. Marcon trying to control the position but instead, Marcos has worked for underhooks and has pushed Marcon into the cage. Nice elbow from Marcon.
It looks like Kim Marcos has been cut. Marcon trying to control the position but instead, Marcos has worked for underhooks and has pushed Marcon into the cage. Marcos tries to circle away but Marcon has him pinned against the cage. Marcon has Marcos pressed against the cage, preventing Marcos from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Marcos is trying to force a seperation but Marcon has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Knees in the clinch landing for Marcon.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marcon walks away with a smile on his face. Marcos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nice uppercut there from Marcos. The fighters circle momentarily. Marcos darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Marcon misses with a combination
and Marcos counters with a left and a right that stings Marcon. Marcon looks winded! Marcon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marcos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Marcos swats away the attempt to clinch by Marcon. Marcon is looking to clinch but Marcos is avoiding it.
Marcon moves in looking to clinch but Marcos pushes him off. Rodrigo Marcon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Marcon scores with a head kick. Marcos tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Marcos throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marcos dives in and grabs Marcon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marcon pushes down on Marcos's head and hops out. Marcos avoids the head kick by Marcon.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marcon looks to score with a jab to the body but Marcos is just out of range. Marcon doesn't manage to clinch there - Marcos circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marcon lands an elbow inside that Marcos shrugs off. Marcon tries to land knees in the clinch but Marcos avoids the damage to the body. Marcon struggles to land a body shot inside as Marcos controls his hands.
Marcos is looking to break free of the clinch but Marcon has double underhooks. Marcon lands a good knee to the midsection. Marcos won't want to take too many of those. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Marcon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kim Marcos's cut. That's time! Marcos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Marcos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marcon forces Marcos back against the cage and clinches. Marcon lands with a short shot to the head. Marcon connects with a nasty looking knee right to Marcos's face.

Marcon is looking to control Marcos's arms but Marcos gets an underhook and turns him. Now Marcon has his back to the cage. Marcos avoids the elbow strike from Marcon, against the cage.
Marcos's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A frustrated look appears on Marcos's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Marcos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Kim Marcos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Marcon. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marcos tries to stand and escape but Marcon actually recovers to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marcon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marcos controls the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Marcon scores with a leg kick.

Marcos closes the distance and clinches up with Marcon, looking for a takedown. Marcos pushes Marcon against the cage but Marcon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Marcon digs a good hook to Marcos's body.
