Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denver Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruno Mars will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruno Mars!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mars scores with a crisp jab that stopped Carson in his tracks.


It looks like Denver Carson has been cut.

Mars clinches up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Carson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mars's brow.
Carson jumps guard but Mars turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Carson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mars is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Carson lands a shoulder strike.


It looks like Bruno Mars has been cut.

Carson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mars uses from the top position.
Carson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mars is pressed up against the cage. Carson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mars down to the mat. Mars avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mars looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carson is fending him off so far but Mars persists. Nope, Carson circles away and we're back to standing.

Carson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mars works Carson's body with a nice hook.
Mars swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Carson.

Mars clinches.
Carson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Carson drags the fight down to the ground.

Carson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Carson is breathing heavily.
Carson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mars's guard.

Carson is working Mars over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carson lands a couple of digs.
Carson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Mars is working an open guard so Carson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mars lands a lovely overhand right.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mars.
Carson leaves Mars with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mars doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Carson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mars is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Carson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denver Carson dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mars bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mars misses with a series of wild punches.
Mars clobbers Carson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A clash of legs there as Carson blocks the low kick.

Carson lands a head kick. Mars smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Mars has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Mars rushes Carson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mars wants to slow Carson down by chopping away at his legs.
Mars lands a really nice looking cross but Carson seems unphased.
Jab, jab by Mars - just one landing.
Mars rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mars is breathing heavily.
Carson misses with a head kick.
Mars throws a leg kick but Carson checks it.

Carson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mars walks away with a smile on his face. Carson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mars is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mars is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Carson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Mars is looking to defend but Carson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Mars! Carson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Mars taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Denver Carson!
