Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wilton Whitfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kennedy Leach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wilton Whitfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kennedy Leach!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leach will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Leach is trying hard to land a takedown here. Whitfield sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Leach shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Whitfield as he jumps to the side.
Wilton Whitfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kennedy Leach.
Leach dives in for a single leg takedown but Whitfield sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Whitfield jumps guard but Leach turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Leach tries to break the clinch but Whitfield is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Whitfield really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Leach wants to take the fight to the mat but Whitfield manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Whitfield has clasped his hands together around Leach's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Leach pushes Whitfield away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Whitfield gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Leach tries to bench press Whitfield off him but Whitfield keeps the position.

Whitfield thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Whitfield wants to control but Leach is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Leach gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Leach preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Leach trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Leach shoots for a double leg takedown but Whitfield sprawls well. He's pushed Leach's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Whitfield stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whitfield wants it to stay on the feet.
Whitfield misses with a takedown attempt - Leach sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Leach shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Whitfield counters with a nice body shot.
Whitfield tries to close the distance and clinch but Leach swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Whitfield counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
No luck for Leach with that takedown attempt.

Whitfield throws a combination that misses

and Leach counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Whitfield jumps guard but Leach stands there with Whitfield around his waist. Whitfield gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Leach gets control of Whitfield's arms and successfully pulls guard. Leach will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Leach is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whitfield looking to sit in guard and control but Leach gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Whitfield is trying to hold Leach in close to prevent damage but Leach has managed to pass into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Leach in particular looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Whitfield tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Leach swivels and escapes.
Whitfield shoots in looking for a takedown. Leach tries to sprawl out of it but Whitfield keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Leach manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Whitfield dives in and grabs Leach's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leach pushes down on Whitfield's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilton Whitfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leach throws a sloppy head kick and Whitfield moves out of range easily.

Leach is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Whitfield is surviving well by controlling Leach's body position as best he can.
Poor strikes thrown by Leach there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Whitfield knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leach on the ground.

Whitfield tries to hold on but Leach pushes him away.
Leach throwing strikes here but Whitfield is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Leach closes the distance and pushes Whitfield back into the cage.
Whitfield tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Leach just stands there and leans against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Whitfield utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Leach slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Leach postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Kennedy Leach showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Leach comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Leach shoots in but Whitfield avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Leach shoots in looking for a takedown. Whitfield tries to sprawl out of it but Leach keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Whitfield manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Leach pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leach on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Leach shoots in for a takedown but Whitfield shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Leach will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Leach shoots in looking for a takedown but Whitfield manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Leach's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Whitfield tries to pull guard but Leach holds him up against the cage and eventually Whitfield drops back down to his feet.

Whitfield comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Whitfield gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Leach.

Whitfield's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Leach lands a right hook to the body.
Whitfield misses with a head kick.

Leach moves into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Whitfield just misses with a elbow thrown towards Leach's brow.
Whitfield swings wildly with an uppercut but Leach uses good head movement to avoid it.
Leach has had enough of the clinch but Whitfield keeps him there for the moment.
Leach managing to block the knees to the body from Whitfield.

Leach gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Leach content to control rather than advance.

Whitfield regains full guard. Nicely done.

Kennedy Leach comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Leach has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
