Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shad Craft! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mik Dela Cruz! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dela Cruz tries to sprawl but Craft drives through with a takedown into half guard. Craft will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Craft is looking to stall here but Dela Cruz recovers full guard. Dela Cruz has his foot on Craft's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Craft works his way back into a safe position though. Craft is in close to Dela Cruz's body, working some short punches and elbows. Dela Cruz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Craft defends well. Craft missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dela Cruz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Craft uses it to pass to side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters take a look at the clock. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Craft throws an elbow but Dela Cruz slips to the side and avoids it well. Craft swings around for an armbar but Dela Cruz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Craft's guard. Dela Cruz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Craft looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Craft is trying to keep Dela Cruz in close.
Craft is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dela Cruz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Craft looking for a sweep. Not yet Craft, not yet. Dela Cruz has gone for a leg lock! Craft slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dela Cruz's guard. Dela Cruz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Craft. Dela Cruz wants to hit a switch here but Craft passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dela Cruz there! Craft really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Craft tries to control but Dela Cruz wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Craft is really struggling to control Dela Cruz but he's trying to hold on to the position. Craft avoids the attempt from Dela Cruz to control. Dela Cruz working to try and regain half guard.
Craft unloads with some shots from mount but Dela Cruz bucks and avoids them well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Craft is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dela Cruz is surviving well by controlling Craft's body position as best he can. Dela Cruz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Craft raining down shots from the mount! Dela Cruz regains half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dela Cruz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Craft pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shad Craft dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Dela Cruz gets caught flat footed, as Craft shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Craft cracks Dela Cruz with a solid left hand. Dela Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Craft postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Craft throwing strikes from guard but Dela Cruz blocks nicely. Craft working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dela Cruz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Cruz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Craft gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Craft throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dela Cruz works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Craft loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Craft. Dela Cruz is not content to let Craft control the position. Craft is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dela Cruz can do to turn this around? Dela Cruz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Dela Cruz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Craft takes a little break here. Dela Cruz wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Dela Cruz tries to bench press Craft off him but Craft keeps the position. Craft throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz tries to buck Craft off but Craft is having none of it. Dela Cruz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Craft off and has taken his back! Dela Cruz keeps control of the position as Craft tries to break free.
Craft looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Dela Cruz has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Dela Cruz punishes Craft with strikes from the back mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Craft just trying to survive but Dela Cruz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Craft fending off the submission attempt from Dela Cruz. Dela Cruz is breathing heavily. Craft trying to control the hands but Dela Cruz breaks the grip. Dela Cruz scores with strikes from the back.
Dela Cruz is not going to allow Craft to sit and survive in this position. Dela Cruz scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Shad Craft overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Craft breaks Dela Cruz's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Craft throws a big elbow that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shad Craft dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Craft drives through with a takedown into Dela Cruz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Craft postures up in Dela Cruz's guard and throws a big left but Dela Cruz blocks it. Dela Cruz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Craft's guard. Dela Cruz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dela Cruz landing some decent shots from guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dela Cruz's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dela Cruz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dela Cruz throws a big right hand that misses. That's one minute gone in the round. Dela Cruz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Craft swivels though and keeps the full guard. Craft lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Craft missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Craft working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dela Cruz's head. Craft stands up over Dela Cruz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Dela Cruz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Craft chips away with some ground and pound. Dela Cruz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Craft doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Craft manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dela Cruz working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Craft has passed into half guard!
Dela Cruz wants to improve his position but Craft is controlling well.

Craft tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Dela Cruz is squirming around, avoiding Craft's attempts to control the action. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Craft landing strikes from the mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Shad Craft showed his dominance in that final round. Well Craft has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
