Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joan Lester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raimo Provenzano!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester shoots in and bounces Provenzano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Provenzano has his feet on Lester's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Provenzano changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lester tries to avoid it but Provenzano manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lester to the ground. Lester escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lester misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Provenzano lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lester is rocked!
It looks like Joan Lester has been cut.
Provenzano moves into the clinch.
Oh Lester is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Provenzano takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Provenzano lands an elbow that stopped Lester in his tracks for a moment.
Provenzano should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Provenzano is trying to pull guard but Lester turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Lester has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Provenzano is working for takedown but Lester is calmly controlling the position for now.
Joan Lester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raimo Provenzano.
Provenzano breaks from the clinch.
Provenzano is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Lester is in big trouble! Provenzano is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Lester. Poor guy.
