Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Santiago Lester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joseph Miner!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lester keeping moving, preventing Miner from controlling successfully.
Miner preventing the sweep.
Lester trying to keep a closed guard but Miner is proving a slippery customer.
Miner scoring with punches to the head and body.

Lester has his feet on Miner's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Lester needs to keep his hands up - Miner had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Santiago Lester has been cut.

Lester closes the distance and pushes Miner back into the cage.

Miner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lester breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lester clinches with his opponent.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lester could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lester's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lester escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lester takes the fight into the clinch.
Lester wants to stall.

Lester pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miner with a nice cross.

Miner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lester to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Miner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Lester drops back looking for a leg! Miner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miner manages to kick Lester off! Lester jumps back into Miner's guard.
Miner lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lester throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miner won't allow Lester to sweep him here.
Lester throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Miner is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Lester has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Miner is looking to defend but Lester has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Miner! Lester pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Miner taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Santiago Lester!
