Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tino Sleeper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eduardo Massa Alcantara!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Massa Alcantara connects with a nice looking jab.
No luck for Sleeper with that takedown attempt.
Massa Alcantara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Massa Alcantara slaps away a takedown attempt from Sleeper, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Massa Alcantara throws a hook to the side of Sleeper's head but Sleeper sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sleeper shoots for a double leg takedown but Massa Alcantara sprawls well. He's pushed Sleeper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tino Sleeper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sleeper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Massa Alcantara checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Massa Alcantara throws a series of strikes that have Sleeper backpedaling.
Sleeper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Massa Alcantara defends it nicely.
A clash of legs there as Massa Alcantara blocks the low kick.
Sleeper looks for a takedown but Massa Alcantara sprawls well.
Sleeper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sleeper changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Massa Alcantara tries to avoid it but Sleeper manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Massa Alcantara to the ground. Massa Alcantara escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Massa Alcantara lands a jab to Sleeper's midsection.
Sleeper is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sleeper dodges the punch combination from Massa Alcantara.
Massa Alcantara throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Sleeper stumbling backwards into the cage! Sleeper bounces back off the cage towards Massa Alcantara, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Massa Alcantara lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Massa Alcantara celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Eduardo Massa Alcantara!
