Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aurel Pacjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aurel Pacjo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Renato Bernard's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Renato Bernard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aurel Pacjo! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pacjo shoots in and gets a takedown into Bernard's guard. Pacjo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bernard is striking off his back. Pacjo thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Bernard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bernard works his way to full guard. Good work. Pacjo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bernard wants to sweep but no luck. Bernard wants to improve his position but instead Pacjo has moved into half guard.
Bernard tries to roll over but Pacjo keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pacjo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bernard blocking the ground and pound attempt from Pacjo. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pacjo is looking for a kimura but Bernard is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pacjo to get the leverage. Pacjo is just content to waste time from the top position. Bernard takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Pacjo throws a big elbow that misses. Bernard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bernard being controlled here, momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bernard is looking to sweep but instead, Pacjo has passed into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pacjo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pacjo trying to pass the guard but Bernard defending well. Pacjo trying to control from half guard but Bernard is working away.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bernard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bernard moves in looking to clinch but Pacjo pushes him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacjo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pacjo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bernard keeps working. Pacjo decides to return to a standing position. Bernard feints a jab promting Pacjo to slip. Bernard then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Pacjo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Bernard fails with a takedown attempt. Bernard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pacjo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pacjo looking to score a takedown here. Bernard is defending well but Pacjo drives through and ends up in Bernard's guard. Pacjo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pacjo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Pacjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Bernard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bernard is breathing heavily. Pacjo throws a big right hand that misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bernard looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pacjo passes into half guard.

Aurel Pacjo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pacjo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pacjo controls the position. Pacjo tries for a kimura but Bernard is defending well. Pacjo decides to take the fight back to the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bernard is defended easily by Pacjo. Pacjo shoots in and gets a takedown into Bernard's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard being controlled here, momentarily. Pacjo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bernard throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Bernard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pacjo trying to control the position from guard on top but Bernard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pacjo pushing down on Bernard's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pacjo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Pacjo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bernard has a hand on Pacjo's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Pacjo takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Pacjo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bernard is now in Pacjo's guard. A big mistake from Pacjo there, giving up the dominant position! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pacjo is on top in guard.
Pacjo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacjo tries to free his leg and advance position but Bernard is retaining full guard. Pacjo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pacjo throws a sloppy head kick and Bernard counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bernard. Pacjo has picked Bernard up - he's going for a ride! Pacjo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Pacjo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bernard is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Renato Bernard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A nice inside leg kick there by Pacjo. That's going to slow Bernard down. Pacjo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pacjo passes into half guard. Pacjo escapes and gets back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pacjo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bernard is trying to defend but Pacjo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pacjo throwing shots but Bernard is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aurel Pacjo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Pacjo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Pacjo stands and throws Bernard's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sloppy strikes there by Pacjo. Pacjo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pacjo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Bernard! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pacjo tries to control but Bernard wriggling away. Pacjo controlling the position easily from mount. Bernard is looking to improve his position but Pacjo isn't that keen on the idea.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pacjo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bernard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacjo is continuing to stall. Bernard suckers Pacjo into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Bernard is now in Pacjo's guard!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pacjo keeps the fight on the outside. Renato Bernard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Aurel Pacjo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Aurel Pacjo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pacjo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Aurel Pacjo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pacjo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
