Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borat Sagdiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagdiyev is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mamaliga. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Meyers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Borat Sagdiyev! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyers fakes the leg kick and cracks Sagdiyev in the body. Sagdiyev slaps away a takedown attempt from Meyers, before circling back to the center of the mat. A big right from Meyers misses. Meyers darts in looking for a takedown but Sagdiyev gets double underhooks and turns Meyers into the cage. Sagdiyev wants to break free but Meyers has control.
Our sources have told us that Meyers has been working on his elbows in the gym. Sagdiyev wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Meyers has him pressed against the cage. Meyers looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sagdiyev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meyers fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Meyers shoots in but Sagdiyev avoids the takedown attempt easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Meyers.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sagdiyev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Meyers. Meyers misses with a takedown attempt - Sagdiyev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Meyers wants to clinch and Sagdiyev cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Charlie Meyers has been cut. No luck for Meyers with that takedown attempt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyers is defended easily by Sagdiyev. Meyers shoots for a takedown but Sagdiyev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sagdiyev defends well and Meyers ends up having to push Sagdiyev into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Meyers. Meyers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Meyers shoots in for a takedown but Sagdiyev shows good takedown defense. Meyers tries to clinch but Sagdiyev is having none of it. Meyers shoots for a double leg takedown but Sagdiyev sprawls well. He's pushed Meyers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Meyers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sagdiyev is fending him off so far but Meyers persists. Nope, Sagdiyev circles away and we're back to standing. Meyers fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Meyers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sagdiyev sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Meyers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sagdiyev swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyers tries to clinch up. Meyers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sagdiyev! Meyers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Meyers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sagdiyev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Meyers fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Meyers misses with the ground and pound. Meyers throwing shots but missing, from side control. Meyers trying to control the position but Sagdiyev is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sagdiyev is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Meyers is looking for a kimura here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Borat Sagdiyev will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Charlie Meyers's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Meyers tries to clinch up. Charlie Meyers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meyers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sagdiyev as he jumps to the side. Meyers closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meyers is keen to just control but Sagdiyev is a slippery customer. Meyers is looking to advance position but Sagdiyev won't allow it. Meyers looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sagdiyev preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Meyers lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Sagdiyev is looking for a sweep. Meyers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sagdiyev is defending against the submission attempts here by Meyers.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Meyers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sagdiyev is trying to control but can't.
Meyers misses with a head shot. Sagdiyev uses the momentum to regain guard. Sagdiyev keeping moving, preventing Meyers from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyers advances position into side control! Sagdiyev can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyers tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Meyers working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sagdiyev wants to control but Meyers postures up. Meyers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meyers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Meyers looking to control but instead Sagdiyev has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Meyers seems to be working for a kimura but Sagdiyev defends the submission attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meyers thows a huge punch but Sagdiyev dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nice sprawl there from Sagdiyev as Meyers shoots in. He's got hold of a leg but Sagdiyev swivels and escapes. Meyers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sagdiyev but Sagdiyev pushes him off and we're back to square one. Meyers shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sagdiyev counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Meyers thinking. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyers is defended easily by Sagdiyev. Borat Sagdiyev seems to be getting the better of the standup. Meyers dives in and grabs Sagdiyev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sagdiyev pushes down on Meyers's head and hops out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sagdiyev sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Meyers tries to clinch but fails miserably and Sagdiyev counters with a nice low kick that buckles Meyers's knee momentarily. Meyers shoots in for a takedown but Sagdiyev shows good takedown defense. Meyers looks to clinch and Sagdiyev counters with a crisp right hand that drops Meyers! Sagdiyev lets Meyers back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Meyers is rocked! Meyers shoots in and drives through. Sagdiyev sprawls well. Oh Meyers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Meyers tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sagdiyev rattles Meyers with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Meyers tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Sagdiyev dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Meyers stiff and motionless on the mat!
