Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James LaBrie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Vip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James LaBrie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Vip!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vip looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
John Vip seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vip takes one to the side of the head.
Vip takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

LaBrie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
LaBrie has momentary wrist control but Vip slips an elbow through the middle.
Vip connects with a couple of short punches.
LaBrie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Vip looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vip loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
LaBrie has control of Vip's left arm, preventing Vip from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vip postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

LaBrie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Vip works over LaBrie with some ground and pound from guard.
LaBrie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from LaBrie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vip accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
LaBrie connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
LaBrie stuffs the takedown attempt from Vip. Vip gets slowly back to his feet.

LaBrie is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Vip wants to take the fight to the mat but LaBrie manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

LaBrie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
LaBrie lands a right hand.
LaBrie stalling in the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by LaBrie.
LaBrie scores with a shot to the side of Vip's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vip looking for a takedown.

LaBrie pushes Vip back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

LaBrie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vip dives in for a single leg takedown but LaBrie sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Vip looks winded!
A left hand lands to the body for LaBrie.
Vip's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
LaBrie lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
LaBrie lands a nice uppercut.
A body shot lands from LaBrie.
LaBrie lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vip backwards.
LaBrie throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
LaBrie lands a shoulder strike.
LaBrie scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Vip's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
LaBrie lands a shoulder strike.


Vip is rocked!

Vip is still on wobbly legs! Can LaBrie finish him?
LaBrie lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vip backwards.
LaBrie lands a nice uppercut.

LaBrie breaks the clinch.
James LaBrie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

LaBrie connects with a superb combination that knocks Vip out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles LaBrie before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Vip!
