Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lans Gregor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zero Hero!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hero dodges the punch combination from Gregor.
Gregor takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Hero throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hero misses with an uppercut.
Gregor has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Warrior MMA and Fitness in the buildup to the fight.
Hero misses with a hook
and Gregor counters with a nice body shot.
A combination from Gregor does no damage.
Hero is looking to land body kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hero fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Hero dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
No joy there for Gregor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gregor throws a combination that misses
and Hero counters with a one-two to the body.
Hero looks to land a body kick but Gregor moved away.
Gregor moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Gregor lands with a good body shot.
Hero swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hero moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hero lands the left hand.
Hero fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gregor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Gregor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hero throws a front kick that sends Gregor stumbling back into the cage.
Zero Hero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hero lands a slapping body shot.
Hero throws a hook to the side of Gregor's head but Gregor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gregor misses with a body shot.
Decent striking displayed by Hero there.
Hero lands a left and a right that send Gregor crashing to the mat, dazed. Hero thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gregor is rocked!
Gregor takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Gregor throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hero counters with a right hand to the body.
Gregor is breathing heavily.
Hero darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Gregor's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Hero before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Zero Hero!
