Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Ray!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves away from the strike by Ray.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ray tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ray to the ground. Ray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith is looking to clinch but Ray is avoiding it.
The fighters circling - Ray throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ray feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith takes a swing at Ray's ribcage but misses.
Ray has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Chuck Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Smith tries to clinch up but Ray circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Smith doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Ray pushes him off.
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ray.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ray avoids it really well and circles away.
Ray lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ray sprawls well. Ray wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ray lands with a shot to the body.
Ray looks to land a left hand but Smith moved out of range nicely.

Smith has Ray up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith jumps guard but Ray stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Smith.
Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ray gets a double leg takedown into Smith's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ray's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ray postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ray cracks Smith with a solid left hand.
Ray is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control.
Ray trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith wants to stand but Ray is controlling the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Ray trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ray sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ray swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ray, as that shot connected.
Ray gets a takedown into half guard.
Ray takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Smith moves into full guard.
Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ray sitting in guard here, content to control.
Smith is working an open guard so Ray takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ray waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith.
Ray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith.
Ray looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range.
The fighters circling - Ray throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ray dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ray manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith looks for a takedown but Ray sprawls well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ray misses with a wild body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricky Ray dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Ray tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ray manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ray misses with a lunging right hand
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Smith counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ray is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Ray misses with a straight left.
Ray swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ray keeps the fight on the outside.
Some wild striking there from Ray.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ray.
Ray ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Smith on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Smith dives in and grabs Ray's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ray pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

and Ray counters with a stiff right hand.

Smith has picked Ray up - he's going for a ride! Smith dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Smith is stalling here. Ray is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Smith seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ray has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Smith tries to improve position but can't.
Ray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
Ray just content to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith is not content to let Ray control the position.
Ray creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Smith sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Ray controls the position.
Ray is putting a hurting on Smith here, landing some big shots from side control.
Ray throws a strike aimed at the side of Smith's head but Smith avoids it well.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ray is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Smith's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ray trying to control the position but Smith is working away.
Ricky Ray has got the better of the ground game so far.

Smith is letting Ray control him for a moment.
Ray is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ray has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Smith!
Ray pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Smith is bucking up trying to escape but Ray cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Smith tries to reverse the position but Ray maintains control.
Ray putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Smith is rocked!
Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Ray has a good base and remains in mount.
Ray looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ray cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ray avoids the attempt from Smith to control.
Ray lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ray unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Smith wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Ray celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
