Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cordell Conway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chupaca Tralala! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conway with a poor takedown so Tralala counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tralala sitting in guard here, content to control. Tralala working some strikes from top position. Tralala loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Conway throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Tralala throws an elbow that misses. Conway uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tralala's guard. Nice move by Conway!
Conway will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tralala pulls Conway in close to his closed guard and prevents Conway from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conway has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tralala is proving hard to escape from. Tralala pulls Conway in to control the position. Tralala has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Conway off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Tralala misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tralala swings and misses with a shot to the body and Conway counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Conway. Conway is looking to take this one to the mat. Conway managing to block the knees to the body from Tralala.
Conway tries to land a knee to the head but Tralala blocks with his arms.
Conway drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tralala gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cordell Conway. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tralala tries to circle away but Conway has him pinned against the cage. Tralala wants the takedown. Conway is fighting it off but Tralala persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Conway's guard against the cage. Tralala throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Conway works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tralala working some strikes from top position. Tralala passes Conway's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tralala seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Conway is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
