Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Pettis ducks down to avoid it.
Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Pettis connects with a leg kick. Jones looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
A big right from Jones misses.
Pettis lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Jones on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pettis. Pettis obviously looking to wear him down.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Pettis.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pettis throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.
Pettis lands with a kick to the temple. Jones shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Pettis throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pettis throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Pettis lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Pettis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pettis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Pettis throws a head kick that misses.
Pettis lets loose with a powerful body kick. Jones will feel that in the morning.
Pettis scores with a head kick.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pettis tries a head kick but it misses.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Pettis is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Jones misses with a few strikes there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing.
Pettis tries to counter by closing the distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones scores with a nice right hand.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pettis circles away quickly and effectively.
Pettis with the counter takedown but Jones avoids it easily.
Pettis lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Pettis lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Pettis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pettis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
An inside leg kick lands from Pettis.
Pettis throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pettis throws a head kick that misses.
Pettis scores with a push kick.
Jones on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pettis.
Pettis throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jones takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Pettis connects with an inside leg kick.
Jones throws a series of punches but Pettis avoids them all with ease.
Pettis misses with a head kick.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pettis.
Pettis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
Jones takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pettis chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones tries to bum rush Pettis with a series of wild strikes but Pettis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pettis connects with an inside leg kick.
Pettis tries a head kick but it misses.
It looked like Jones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Pettis thows a body kick. Jones tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A solid body kick from Pettis.
Pettis lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Nice body kick from Pettis.
Pettis misses with a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A slapping body kick lands there for Pettis.
Pettis thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jones if he has to take too many more of those.
Pettis throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Pettis dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Pettis lands with a slapping head kick.
Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pettis counters with a body kick.
A head kick from Pettis lands but Jones takes it in his stride.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pettis circles away quickly and effectively.
Pettis tries a quick counter leg kick but Jones is wise to it.

Pettis lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! Pettis takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Jones is rocked!

Pettis throws a powerful right kick. Jones tried to block low but the kick was high! Jones was taken right off of his feet! Pettis jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Pete Pettis!
