Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Workman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Tsanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Workman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Tsanaka! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tsanaka fails with the takedown and Workman counters with a two punch combo. Tsanaka gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Workman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tsanaka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Tsanaka wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Workman, who protects the arm well. Tsanaka tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tsanaka looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Workman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Workman wants to control but Tsanaka postures up. Tsanaka lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tsanaka trying to control the action but Workman is working from the bottom. Workman tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tsanaka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Tsanaka is looking to take a break and control but Workman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Workman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tsanaka on the ground. Tsanaka misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Workman is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tsanaka trying to control the action but Workman is working from the bottom. Tsanaka tries for a kimura but Workman is defending well. Tsanaka is trying to get an arm triangle but Workman is defending well. Workman struggling a bit here. Tsanaka trying to control the action but Workman is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tsanaka is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Workman has escaped the position, nice work there. Tsanaka is looking to take a break and control but Workman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tsanaka tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tsanaka has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiro Tsanaka dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Workman tries to close the distance and clinch but Tsanaka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tsanaka with a poor takedown and Workman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tsanaka thinking. Tsanaka misses with a takedown and Workman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Tsanaka doesn't succeed with the takedown and Workman counters with a shoot takedown. Tsanaka fights it but they end up in guard. Joe Workman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiro Tsanaka. Workman won't allow Tsanaka to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Workman throwing strikes but missing. Hiro Tsanaka has got the better of the ground game so far. Tsanaka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Workman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tsanaka is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Workman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Tsanaka preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Workman stopping the sweep attempt from Tsanaka. Workman has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tsanaka to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Workman is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tsanaka pulls down on the head and he's put Workman to sleep! This one is all over!
