PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Freida Felcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert E Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen American Trilogy as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freida Felcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert E Lee!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Felcher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lee shoots in and bounces Felcher off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Felcher swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee postures up and lands a big shot to Felcher's brow.
Felcher wants to stand and escape but Lee is having none of it.
Lee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Felcher's guard.
Lee not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lee seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Felcher is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold.
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Felcher keeps working.

Lee is trying to work for a kimura but Felcher is defending well.
Felcher moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Lee is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Felcher is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Felcher has escaped and now he's on top!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Felcher is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Felcher stands up and beckons Lee to join him on the feet.

Lee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Felcher pinned against the cage. Felcher gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Felcher moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lee looks for a takedown but Felcher sprawls well.
Lee shoots in looking for a takedown. Felcher tries to sprawl out of it but Lee keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Felcher manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Freida Felcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert E Lee.
Lee looks gassed!
Lee shoots in for a takedown but Felcher shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown by Felcher or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad.
Lee takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Lee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Lee shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Felcher makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Felcher throws a wild body kick that Lee sees coming a mile off.

Robert E Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lee throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Felcher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
Felcher prevents Lee from standing back up.

Lee has one foot on Felcher's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Felcher lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lee darts in trying to clinch
and Felcher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lee fails with the takedown

and Felcher counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Freida Felcher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Felcher with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Lee is looking to get back to full guard here but Felcher has managed to pass to side control instead.
Lee is trying to reverse the position but instead Felcher has taken his back - oops!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Freida Felcher dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Felcher feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lee's calf.

Lee drives through and clinches with Felcher against the cage.
Felcher blocks the elbow strike.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee throws his legs up looking for a submission but Felcher uses it to pass to side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Felcher wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lee regains full guard. Nicely done.
Lee throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Felcher pushes his legs off easily.
Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Felcher stands up and waves to Lee to follow him.

Felcher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Felcher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lee tries to land knees in the clinch but Felcher avoids the damage to the body.
Felcher is trying to break free.
Lee creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Felcher's defenses.

Lee has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Felcher is trying to keep an underhook but Lee manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Felcher is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.

Lee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Felcher is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Lee thows a huge punch but Felcher dodges it nicely.

Lee is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Robert E Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lee has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
