Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nergal Behemoth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rey Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Jones as Behemoth shoots in. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Behemoth counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones is looking to improve his position.
Jones trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Jones is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Behemoth trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Behemoth's attempts to control the action. Behemoth working for a submission but Jones is keeping him at bay. Behemoth trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jones has given up his back here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Behemoth has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Jones. Jones trying to control the hands but Behemoth won't let him. Behemoth doesn't have the hooks in and Jones manages to turn into his guard.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones wants to control from the top but Behemoth keeps moving. Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Behemoth keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Behemoth has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Behemoth is breathing heavily. Behemoth looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Behemoth is keeping the position. Jones trying to control but Behemoth is working from the bottom. Behemoth looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Behemoth keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Behemoth trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Behemoth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones postures up in Behemoth's guard and throws a big left but Behemoth blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nergal Behemoth dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Behemoth moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jones has eaten all the pies! Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Behemoth tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Behemoth misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Behemoth wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Behemoth because Jones loaded up on that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Behemoth turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.
Jones wants to hit a switch here but Behemoth passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jones there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Behemoth can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape. Jones is working to get back to half guard.
Behemoth has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Jones is forced to tap!
