Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kalazzar Scar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Eckstroem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan Eckstroem is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kalazzar Scar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jan Eckstroem!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eckstroem ducks right into an uppercut from Scar.
Eckstroem lands a jab to Scar's midsection.
Eckstroem misses with a takedown attempt - Scar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A combination from Scar does no damage.
Scar lands a head kick!

Eckstroem rushes Scar and presses him up against the cage.
Scar misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Scar struggles to land a body shot inside as Eckstroem controls his hands.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Eckstroem gets control of Scar's arms and successfully pulls guard. Eckstroem will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Scar has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Eckstroem is proving hard to escape from.
Eckstroem trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Scar stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Scar jabs Eckstroem right on the nose. Eckstroem blinks but takes it well.
Eckstroem shoots in for a takedown but Scar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Eckstroem shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Scar defends it nicely.
Kalazzar Scar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Eckstroem.
Eckstroem shoots in for a takedown but Scar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kalazzar Scar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Scar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Scar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Eckstroem.

Scar tries to keep at a distance but Eckstroem has taken the fight into the clinch.

Eckstroem has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Scar uses from the top position.

Eckstroem working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Scar wanted to stand there but Eckstroem had control of the position.

Scar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eckstroem has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Scar has managed to get both his arms back between Eckstroem's legs - danger averted.
Eckstroem has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Eckstroem is trying to keep Scar in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eckstroem lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Eckstroem wants to control from the top but Scar keeps moving.
Eckstroem is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've been informed that Eckstroem has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Eckstroem is in close to Scar's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Scar keeping moving, preventing Eckstroem from controlling successfully.

Eckstroem is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Scar wants to stand and escape but Eckstroem is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eckstroem wants to control from the top but Scar keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Scar is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scar tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kalazzar Scar will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Eckstroem tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Eckstroem misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Scar misses with a wild combination.
Scar misses with a wild body shot.

Eckstroem looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Eckstroem wants to control from the top but Scar keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eckstroem throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Eckstroem gets to his feet. Scar looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Eckstroem counters with an outside leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scar throws a body shot but no joy.
Eckstroem blocks a low kick nicely.
Eckstroem fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Scar avoids it really well and circles away.

Eckstroem has taken the fight to the clinch.

Eckstroem has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Scar uses from the top position.
Eckstroem bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Scar's guard.

Jan Eckstroem has got the better of the ground game so far.
Eckstroem lands a couple of digs.

Eckstroem stands up from Scar's guard - Eckstroem perhaps looking for a knockout.
Eckstroem fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Eckstroem shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Eckstroem was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Eckstroem tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Eckstroem fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Scar sprawls well initially but Eckstroem persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Eckstroem stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Eckstroem with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Eckstroem ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Eckstroem no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Eckstroem wants to sweep here but Scar controlling him for the moment.
Eckstroem wants to hit a switch here but Scar passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Eckstroem there!
Scar blocks Eckstroem's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jan Eckstroem showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Scar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Scar throws a series of strikes that have Eckstroem backpedaling.

Eckstroem closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Scar quickly recovers to half guard.
Scar wants to get back to his feet.
Eckstroem is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Eckstroem thows a huge punch but Scar dodges it nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Eckstroem is taking a breather. Scar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Eckstroem decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Eckstroem tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scar swivels and escapes.
Eckstroem fails to land the takedown.
Eckstroem shoots for a takedown but Scar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kalazzar Scar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Eckstroem.
Scar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scar wants it to stay on the feet.
Eckstroem misses with a takedown attempt - Scar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Scar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Donk. Scar catches Eckstroem right on the button with a cross.
Scar scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Eckstroem postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Eckstroem sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Eckstroem drops back looking for a leg! Scar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Scar manages to kick Eckstroem off! Eckstroem jumps back into Scar's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jan Eckstroem comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Eckstroem has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Jan Eckstroem was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
