Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Humberto Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ethan Tran will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Humberto Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Tran!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran thumps Cooke with a low kick.
Cooke is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tran sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cooke avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cooke shoots in looking for a takedown but Tran manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cooke's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Good leg kick by Tran there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tran lands a lovely overhand right.


It looks like Humberto Cooke has been cut.
Cooke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tran tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cooke dodges the punch combination from Tran.
Tran throws a big shot that misses.
Ethan Tran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cooke feints and as Tran raises his hands in defense, Cooke changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cooke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cooke missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Cooke throwing strikes but missing.
Cooke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cooke throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tran works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Cooke seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooke lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Cooke content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cooke's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tran has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cooke can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tran moves to clinch but Cooke breaks away

and Cooke counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tran!

Tran is looking for a sweep.
Tran is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cooke connects with a decent elbow.
Check out the look on Cooke's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tran looks to land a left hand but Cooke moved out of range nicely.
Cooke checks the leg kick.
Tran fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cooke is out of range.
Tran stuffs the takedown attempt from Cooke. Cooke gets slowly back to his feet.
Tran tries a head kick but it misses.
Cooke takes one to the side of the head.
Tran throws an overhand right that drops Cooke like a sack of potatoes! Tran dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ethan Tran!
