Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartek Pietrzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Johnny Cash - Hurt. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bartek Pietrzak was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller is looking to land body kicks.
Miller takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pietrzak.
Pietrzak fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Miller checks it well.
Nice sprawl there from Pietrzak as Miller shoots in.
Pietrzak keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Miller swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Pietrzak counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pietrzak misses with a low kick.
Miller fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Pietrzak checks it well.
Miller takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Miller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pietrzak.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pietrzak throws a shot from downtown. Miller moves away and avoids it.
Pietrzak lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Miller takes a swing at Pietrzak's ribcage but misses.
Miller thumps Pietrzak with a low kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Miller. Pietrzak does a little dance to reset his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pietrzak uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miller.

Miller darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pietrzak is trying to control but can't.
Pietrzak blocking the ground and pound attempt from Miller.

Pietrzak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pietrzak has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Miller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pietrzak was well out of range. Poor timing from Miller.
Miller is looking to wear down Pietrzak with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Miller misses with an uppercut. Pietrzak saw that one coming.

Pietrzak shoots in and bounces Miller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Miller is looking to stand up but Pietrzak isn't so interested in that idea.
Miller is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pietrzak postures up in Miller's guard and throws a big left but Miller blocks it.
Miller wants to sweep here but Pietrzak controlling him for the moment.

Pietrzak engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Pietrzak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miller is keeping the position for now.
Pietrzak is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Pietrzak wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miller is looking to chop away at Pietrzak's legs.
Pietrzak throws a head kick but Miller moves out of range.
Miller fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Miller will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pietrzak ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Pietrzak feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Miller looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Miller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pietrzak as he avoids it easily.
Pietrzak throws a nice inside leg kick.
Miller fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pietrzak has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Pietrzak checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Pietrzak will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Pietrzak tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pietrzak somewhat.

Bartek Pietrzak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Miller pulls Pietrzak in close to prevent any damage.

Miller scores with a hook to the body. Pietrzak takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Miller takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pietrzak avoids the body shot from Miller.
Miller throws a body shot but no joy.
Pietrzak lands with a cross.
Pietrzak displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miller throws out the jab.
Miller cracks Pietrzak with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Miller scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Miller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A slow jab from Miller misses its intended target.
Miller ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pietrzak moves away.
Pietrzak scores with a one two! Miller had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Miller goes for a double leg but Pietrzak avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pietrzak continues to drive forward.
Pietrzak tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pietrzak takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Miller throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Miller thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pietrzak tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pietrzak misses with a straight right.
Pietrzak tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pietrzak fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pietrzak keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Miller.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pietrzak stuns Miller with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pietrzak ducks right into an uppercut from Miller.

Miller throws a predictable looking body shot

and Pietrzak counters with a nice double leg into side control. Miller won't be happy with that.
Miller tries to improve position but can't.
Miller takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
An elbow from Pietrzak crashes against the mat.
Miller tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Miller gets back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bartek Pietrzak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pietrzak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
