Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derk Cult (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Seraphim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Derk Cult!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Seraphim!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Cult. Those never looked like landing.
Seraphim takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Seraphim misses with a straight left.
Cult lands with a shot to the body.

Cult shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cult throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cult is trying to control the action in half guard but Seraphim is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Seraphim on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Cult tries to pass the half guard into mount. Seraphim knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Cult is working for a kimura but Seraphim is defending it quite comfortably.

Cult lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cult thows a huge punch but Seraphim dodges it nicely.

Cult knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Seraphim on the ground.

Seraphim kicks Cult off and gets back to his feet.
Seraphim ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Cult darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cult throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Seraphim is trying to stand back up but Cult is controlling him
Cult is looking to advance position but Seraphim won't allow it.
Seraphim is looking to escape.

Cult working the head and body with strikes.
Seraphim has hold of Cult's hands but Cult slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Cult sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Seraphim defending well though.
Seraphim pushes Cult off looking to stand but Cult dives back in and keeps control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Seraphim is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cult missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Cult is trying to control. Seraphim wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Cult changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Seraphim looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cult in side control, throwing shots but Seraphim defends.

Seraphim is trying to get back to his feet.
Cult lands a decent elbow from side control.
Cult wants to lay and pray for a moment but Seraphim keeps working.
Cult scoring with punches and elbows.
Seraphim pushes Cult away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cult gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Cult lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Cult lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Seraphim down.
Cult is chipping away with strikes.
Seraphim is pushing Cult's head away, looking to escape. Cult manages to hold on to the position though.

Seraphim is trying to get back to his feet.
Seraphim is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Cult lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Seraphim explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
A looping hook to the body misses from Seraphim. Cult does a little dance to reset his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cult gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Seraphim seems to have recovered his senses.

Cult shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Seraphim defends it nicely.
Cult tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Seraphim swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derk Cult. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Seraphim is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cult.

Cult scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Seraphim wants to get back to his feet but Cult drags him back down.
Cult is looking to take a break and control but Seraphim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Seraphim is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cult asserts his dominance and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Seraphim misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Cult counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Seraphim wants to get back to his feet.
Cult lands with a punch from half guard.

Seraphim has one foot on Cult's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Cult bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Seraphim throws a poor cross that misses
and Cult counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Seraphim thinking.
John Seraphim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cult punishes Seraphim's body with a nice straight punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cult misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Seraphim fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

We've been informed that Seraphim has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Cult fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Seraphim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cult is fending him off so far but Seraphim persists. Nope, Cult circles away and we're back to standing.

Cult uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Seraphim.
Seraphim lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cult circles away quickly and effectively.
Cult throws a right and a left that Seraphim avoids nicely.

and Cult makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Cult drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cult jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cult won't allow Seraphim to get back to his feet.
Cult has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cult is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cult is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Some bone on bone action there as Cult checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Cult ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Seraphim dives in and grabs Cult's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cult pushes down on Seraphim's head and hops out.

Cult is looking to wear down Seraphim with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Cult feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Seraphims jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Cult uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Cult moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Seraphim closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cult is looking to control Seraphim's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cult avoid being mounted?

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Cult stuffs the takedown attempt from Seraphim. Seraphim gets slowly back to his feet.
Cult shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Seraphim as he jumps to the side.

Seraphim gets caught napping as Cult dives in and scores a takedown. Seraphim manages to retain guard.

Cult is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Seraphim can do to turn this around?

Cult is staying active underneath Seraphim, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Seraphim blocks the strikes from Cult.
Seraphim passes the guard and advances to mount!
Seraphim prevents Cult from getting the reversal.
Seraphim trying to control but Cult is having none of it.
Seraphim might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cult haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Seraphim can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cult is looking to escape.
Cult on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cult tries to get out of the position.

Cult is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
John Seraphim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Seraphim jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cult is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cult and Seraphim has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

John Seraphim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cult has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
