Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Jeltz! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason ducks right into an uppercut from Jeltz.
It looks like Alexander Mason has been cut. Mason manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jeltz on his heels. He'll look to pass Jeltz's guard now, I'm sure. Mason prevents Jeltz from getting back to his feet. Jeltz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason stops Jeltz from standing up. Mason sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jeltz's guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mason is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mason is thwarting Jeltz's attempts to control the position. Jeltz wants to get back to his feet. Jeltz is trying to control but can't.
Mason is controlling the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jeltz is in trouble now - Mason has advanced to mount! Mason connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mason controlling from the full mount. A nice elbow there by Mason. Mason avoids the attempt from Jeltz to control. Mason is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jeltz is surviving well by controlling Mason's body position as best he can. Mason is landing with some decent strikes but Jeltz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mason lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mason is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Mason extends the arm and Jeltz is forced to tap!
