Alvarez Jr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by LL COOL J MOMMA SAY KNOCK YOU OUT. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paterno shoots in looking for a takedown but Alvarez Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Paterno's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Alvarez Jr throws a front kick aimed at Paterno's knee but Paterno avoids it well.
No luck for Paterno with that takedown attempt.
Paterno misses with a takedown attempt
and Alvarez Jr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Massimo Paterno. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paterno doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alvarez Jr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alvarez Jr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alvarez Jr throws a right and a left that Paterno avoids nicely.

Alvarez Jr throws a strike but Paterno rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alvarez Jr controls Paterno momentarily but Paterno frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alvarez Jr isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Paterno stacks Alvarez Jr on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Paterno!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvarez Jr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Paterno wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Paterno swings around for an armbar but Alvarez Jr sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Paterno's guard.
Alvarez Jr is looking to pass into half guard but Paterno pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Paterno is in guard.
Alvarez Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paterno. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Alvarez Jr wants to stand but Paterno is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paterno won't allow Alvarez Jr to sweep him here.
Alvarez Jr is controlling Paterno's posture.

Massimo Paterno really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Vikai Gear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
George Alvarez Jr spoke after the fight, saying 'GOD BLESS ALL'.
