Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between eddie ret (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and paul johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ret fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
ret keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
ret shoots in but johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

ret gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
ret is trying to control the position from the bottom.
ret keeping moving, preventing johnson from controlling successfully.
johnson throwing strikes but missing.
ret is trying to control the position but johnson postures up.

johnson drops back looking for a leg! ret is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and ret manages to kick johnson off! johnson jumps back into ret's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and ret counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in johnson's guard now.

johnson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for ret!

ret tries to reverse the position but johnson maintains control.

johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But ret has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from ret!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I think johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
