16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Russel Richards! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards moves into the clinch. Crashing Mashin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Richards to keep the fight standing. Crashing Mashin blocks an uppercut.

It looks like Renato Crashing Mashin has been cut. Richards lands a right hand. Richards working some nice short punches in the clinch. Richards misses with some punches.

Crashing Mashin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Richards uses from the top position. Richards stays in close to Crashing Mashin's body and controls the position. Richards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Crashing Mashin is trying to keep Richards in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richards is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Richards prevents Crashing Mashin from getting back to his feet. Crashing Mashin looking for a guillotine here but Richards defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Crashing Mashin tries to roll over but Richards keeps him under control. Crashing Mashin is looking to control Richards's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Crashing Mashin avoid being mounted?
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Crashing Mashin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richards throws a nice inside leg kick. Richards swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Richards dives in and scores a takedown into Crashing Mashin's guard. Crashing Mashin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Crashing Mashin misses with a head shot. Richards uses the momentum to regain guard. Richards preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Crashing Mashin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richards utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Crashing Mashin postures up in Richards's guard and throws a big left but Richards blocks it. Richards wants to sweep but no luck. Richards has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Crashing Mashin has passed into side control.
Crashing Mashin works to advance to full mount. Richards defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Richards is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Crashing Mashin looking to finish with strikes here!

Russel Richards dominated that round. The cut man is working on Renato Crashing Mashin's cut. That's time! Crashing Mashin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Crashing Mashin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Richards pinned against the cage. Richards gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Crashing Mashin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Richards misses with a low kick as Crashing Mashin jumps back. Crashing Mashin is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Richards misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Richards shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Crashing Mashin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Richards defends it easily. Russel Richards has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crashing Mashin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Richards passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crashing Mashin wants to get back to full guard but Richards has passed into side control. Richards wants to control but Crashing Mashin is keeping him busy. Crashing Mashin wants to control but Richards postures up. Richards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crashing Mashin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Richards content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Crashing Mashin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Crashing Mashin is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Richards looking to sit in guard and control but Crashing Mashin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Richards has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Crashing Mashin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Richards keeping moving, preventing Crashing Mashin from controlling successfully. Crashing Mashin won't allow Richards to sweep him here. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Crashing Mashin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Richards dodges the punch combination from Crashing Mashin.
Richards fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Crashing Mashin to the ground. Richards is now in Crashing Mashin's guard. Crashing Mashin has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Richards should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Crashing Mashin has tightened it up now! Richards should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Renato Crashing Mashin! Renato Crashing Mashin tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
