Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonatan Jose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Congo!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Congo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jose counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Congo!
Congo taking punishment in the form of punches.
Congo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Congo has hold of Jose's hands but Jose slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Jose controlling the pace.
Congo told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Jose's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Congo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Congo wants to get back to full guard.

Congo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Congo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jose gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jose scoring with punches to the head and body.
Jose showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Jose working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Congo's head.
Jose postures up and lands a big shot to Congo's brow.
Congo is rocked!
Congo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jose defends well.
Jose is looking to work some ground and pound but Congo has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jose looking to pass the guard.
Congo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jose is aware though and is defending well.
Jose is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Congo is still in real trouble! Can Jose finish him?
Jose loads up on a big left hand. Congo felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Jose looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Congo can't hide his disappointment, as Jose celebrates the victory.
