Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Freeman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Azekel Bakari! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bakari feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bakari controls from within his opponent's guard. Bakari throws a strike but Freeman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bakari looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Freeman has picked Bakari up and slammed him! Bakari can't keep hold of the triangle and Freeman manages to pass to side control! Bakari looking for a sweep but Freeman has passed into full mount! Oh no! Bakari is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bakari keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bakari wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freeman looking for the choke but no joy. Bakari wants to escape the position.
Freeman has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Bakari is defending well but eventually Freeman manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Bakari has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
