PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eusebio Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bijiku Daliar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daliar has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bijiku Daliar!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson darts in looking for a takedown but Daliar gets double underhooks and turns Peterson into the cage.
Daliar looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Peterson pulls guard successfully.
Peterson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Peterson stands and steps away. Daliar gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Peterson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Daliar pulls his head out easily.
Peterson is trying to maintain the position but Daliar is very close to passing his half guard.

Daliar wants to take a breather but Peterson is having none of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A thudding body kick lands there by Peterson!

Peterson dives in and grabs Daliar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Daliar pushes down on Peterson's head and hops out.

Peterson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Daliar takes a step back to recover.
Peterson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daliar tries to avoid it but Peterson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daliar to the ground. Daliar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Peterson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Daliar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Peterson somewhat.

Daliar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Peterson is trying to defend but Daliar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Daliar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Peterson shoots in looking for a takedown. Daliar tries to sprawl out of it but Peterson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Daliar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Peterson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Daliar did well to prevent Peterson getting side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Peterson shoots in for a takedown but Daliar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Daliar throws a nice looking combination but Peterson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Daliar swings around for an armbar but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Daliar's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eusebio Peterson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Peterson shoots in looking for a takedown but Daliar manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Peterson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Peterson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Daliar wants to stand but Peterson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peterson is on top in guard.

Daliar is working an open guard so Peterson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bijiku Daliar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Daliar looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Peterson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Daliar pinned against the cage. Daliar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Peterson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Daliar's waist but Daliar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peterson off to one side.
Peterson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Daliar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Peterson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Daliar to the ground. Peterson is now in Daliar's guard.

Peterson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peterson darts in looking for a takedown but Daliar gets double underhooks and turns Peterson into the cage.

Daliar breaks the clinch.

Peterson forces Daliar back against the cage and clinches.

Daliar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Peterson can't fight it off and eventually Daliar manages to take the fight to the floor. Peterson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Daliar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Peterson's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Peterson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Daliar has gone for a leg lock! Peterson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Daliar's guard.
