The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akyama shoots in and drives through. Abdallah sprawls well.
Nice sprawl there from Abdallah as Akyama shoots in.
Abdallah doesn't manage to clinch there - Akyama circles away.
Akyama shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Abdallah defends it nicely.
Mohamed Abdallah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshihiro Akyama.
Abdallah dives in and grabs Akyama's left leg, looking for a takedown. Akyama pushes down on Abdallah's head and hops out.
Abdallah misses with the combination.
Akyama scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Akyama is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akyama tries to pass the half guard into mount. Abdallah knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Akyama with shots to the head and body - Abdallah looks very uncomfortable down there.
Akyama lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
It looks like Mohamed Abdallah has been cut.
Abdallah wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Akyama has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Akyama postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Abdallah looks a forlorn figure.
Mohamed Abdallah's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Abdallah takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jeez, Mohamed Abdallah's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mohamed Abdallah's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
