Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aldrei Meira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 47 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Veli Schwarzeneg! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Schwarzeneg was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Schwarzeneg controlling from side mount. Meira is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Schwarzeneg trying to control the pace. Meira is trying to get back to full guard. Schwarzeneg is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Meira doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schwarzeneg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schwarzeneg is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Meira!
That's one minute gone in the round. Meira is trying to escape the mount.
Meira knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schwarzeneg on the ground. Meira is working hard here to advance position. Schwarzeneg controlling from mount. Schwarzeneg avoids the attempt from Meira to control. Schwarzeneg looking to control and managing it successfully. Schwarzeneg putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meira is trying to escape the mount.
Schwarzeneg lands a big elbow. A nice elbow there by Schwarzeneg. Meira is trying desperately to improve position. Schwarzeneg looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Schwarzeneg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Meira on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Meira tries to get out of the position. Schwarzeneg is landing with some decent strikes but Meira is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Schwarzeneg cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Schwarzeneg throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Meira is trying desperately to improve position. Schwarzeneg lands a big shot there that rocks Meira but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Schwarzeneg pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Schwarzeneg landing strikes, looking to finish! Schwarzeneg punishing his opponent with strikes. Schwarzeneg postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Meira looks a forlorn figure.
Schwarzeneg sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meira takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schwarzeneg landing shots from mount. Schwarzeneg can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meira is looking to escape. Meira is wriggling around trying to escape.
Schwarzeneg with the ground and pound from mount. Schwarzeneg looking to finish Meira with some ground and pound. This is bad for Meira! Schwarzeneg is working for a guillotine from mount but Meira frees his head quite easily.
Schwarzeneg prevents Meira from getting the reversal. Schwarzeneg with good strikes from the mount here! Schwarzeneg landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Veli Schwarzeneg dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Schwarzeneg takes a kick to the side of the head. Meira looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Schwarzeneg moves forwards but Meira connects with a nice, crisp jab. Schwarzeneg shoots in looking for a takedown. Meira tries to sprawl out of it but Schwarzeneg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meira manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown but Meira shows good takedown defense. Schwarzeneg has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Schwarzeneg looks for a takedown but Meira sprawls well. Aldrei Meira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Veli Schwarzeneg. Schwarzeneg misses with a wild combination.
Schwarzeneg closes the distance and clinches up with Meira, looking for a takedown. Schwarzeneg pushes Meira against the cage but Meira circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Meira swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Meira lands with a nice body kick. Meira scores with a head kick. Schwarzeneg tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Meira digs a good hook to Schwarzeneg's body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Meira lands with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meira throws a body punch but Schwarzeneg moves out of range. Veli Schwarzeneg is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Schwarzeneg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Meira wants to stand up but Schwarzeneg is controlling him. Schwarzeneg stopping the sweep attempt from Meira. Schwarzeneg trying to stand up but can't free himself from Meira's guard. Schwarzeneg pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Meira is keeping the position for now. Schwarzeneg stands and steps away. Meira gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Aldrei Meira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Schwarzeneg throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Meira's waist but Meira gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schwarzeneg off to one side. Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Schwarzeneg was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Schwarzeneg in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meira is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Veli Schwarzeneg has got the better of the ground game so far. Schwarzeneg is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Meira knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Schwarzeneg lands a decent elbow from side control. Sloppy strikes there by Schwarzeneg. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meira tries to improve position but can't. Schwarzeneg working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meira manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Meira is looking for a sweep. Schwarzeneg is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Schwarzeneg decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Meira misses with a wild body shot. Schwarzeneg fails to land the takedown. Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Meira as he avoids it easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Schwarzeneg. Meira stuffs the takedown. Schwarzeneg avoids the body shot from Meira.
Meira lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Meira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Schwarzeneg shoots for a takedown but Meira saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Schwarzeneg is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schwarzeneg fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Meira lands with a kick to the ribs.
Meira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Meira connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Schwarzeneg doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schwarzeneg takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Meira connects with a good right hand that stumbles Schwarzeneg. Schwarzeneg circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Meira lands a head kick. Schwarzeneg smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Schwarzeneg is rocked! Meira throws a front kick that sends Schwarzeneg stumbling back into the cage. Schwarzeneg is still on wobbly legs! Can Meira finish him? Meira scores with a spinning back kick! Meira scores with a push kick. Meira lands with a nice body punch. Meira throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Meira steps in with a hook that catches Schwarzeneg right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Meira follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Schwarzeneg looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aldrei Meira!
