Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete McKallister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killer Clown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pete McKallister! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Killer Clown! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clown blocks a jab. McKallister throws a leg kick but Clown checks it. Clown tries to close the distance and clinch up but McKallister swats him away and circles back towards the center. McKallister throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Clown wants to slow McKallister down by chopping away at his legs. An inside leg kick from Clown misses. Clown forces McKallister back against the cage and clinches. Clown lands a hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Pete McKallister has been cut. Clown blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
McKallister has Clown pressed against the cage, preventing Clown from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Clown looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clown is looking to break free of the clinch but McKallister has double underhooks. McKallister lands with a short head shot on the inside. McKallister lands with a left to the head. McKallister can't find room to land a body shot as Clown controls the action.

McKallister fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Clown has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Clown looks to land a combination but McKallister avoids it well. McKallister scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Clown takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Clown wants to clinch. McKallister rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clown moves out of range and avoids them all easily. McKallister fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Clown throws a sloppy head kick and McKallister moves out of range easily. As Clown tries to get set, McKallister tries to push him back and clinch up but Clown manages to avoid the attempt. Clown tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McKallister manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clown throws a shot to the body.

Clown tries to clinch up. McKallister goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Clown moves in looking to clinch but McKallister pushes him off. Clown closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Clown clinches up against the cage. McKallister throws a head punch that misses. Clown is trying to push McKallister away but McKallister has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. McKallister misses with a body punch.

McKallister connects with a good right hand that stumbles Clown. Clown circles away out of range and recomposes himself. The fight stays on the outside here - Clown looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKallister chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clown can pounce on him.
McKallister tries to keep at a distance but Clown has taken the fight into the clinch. Clown is trying to pull guard but McKallister turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Clown wants to stall.

Clown misses the body punch and McKallister counters with a thumping low kick. McKallister dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Clown. That did some damage! Clown scores with a three punch combo!

The fighters circle momentarily. McKallister darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Clown moves out of range as McKallister strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clown keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from McKallister. McKallister throws an ugly left hook that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A nice leg kick lands there from Clown. Clown tries to clinch up. Clown tries to clinch up but McKallister circles away and keeps his distance. An attempted straight right counter from McKallister misses the target. Clown misses with a head kick.
McKallister swings away with a leg kick that misses. McKallister lands a jab to the nose. McKallister moves out of range of the body kick. Clown moves out of range of the leg kick from McKallister. McKallister throws a sloppy head kick and Clown moves out of range easily. Clown tries to close the distance and clinch up but McKallister swats him away and circles back towards the center. Clown is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clown avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Clown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McKallister tries to land a leg kick but Clown saw it coming and moves away.

and McKallister counters with a straight right hand. McKallister connects with a looping right hand.
McKallister lands with a cross. Clown tries to clinch there but McKallister circles away.
Clown tries to close the distance and clinch but McKallister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McKallister was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Clown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

McKallister is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Clown throws a right hand that McKallister ducks under and follows up with a left that McKallister also avoids with ease. McKallister lands a leg kick that knocks Clown off balance momentarily. McKallister will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Clown throws a nice looking combination but McKallister bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. McKallister closes the distance and lands a one-two. Clown moves into the clinch. Clown jumps guard but McKallister stands there with Clown around his waist. Clown gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

I was talking to McKallister's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. McKallister lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Clown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Clown wants to clinch up but McKallister keeps it at a distance. McKallister feinted there with a counter leg kick. Clown clinches up with McKallister and pushes him back against the cage. Clown wants to break free but McKallister has control.
