Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luther Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pask Tuuletin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuuletin has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The key to victory for Luther Meyers has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pask Tuuletin! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Tuuletin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Meyers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tuuletin is in Meyers's guard. Tuuletin looks winded! Meyers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tuuletin's guard.
Meyers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meyers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Meyers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tuuletin on the ground. Tuuletin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Tuuletin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Meyers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meyers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Meyers postures up in Tuuletin's guard and throws a big left but Tuuletin blocks it. Tuuletin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Meyers. Meyers with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meyers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Meyers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Meyers is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Meyers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Meyers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
