Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between West Rockford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rockford might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Latino N Proud by DJ Raff. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, West Rockford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockford shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lopez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rockford tries to avoid it but Lopez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rockford to the ground. Rockford escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lopez shoots in but Rockford avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rockford fails with the takedown
and Lopez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rockford changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lopez tries to avoid it but Rockford manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lopez to the ground. Lopez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for West Rockford. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lopez can do anything to dispel that myth.
