Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucifer Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Malkovitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mark Malkovitz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Malkovitz or perhaps it was just good defense by Maia which made him look bad.
Mark Malkovitz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Malkovitz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maia swivels and escapes.

Maia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Malkovitz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Maia shoots in and bounces Malkovitz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Malkovitz is looking to stand back up but Maia counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Malkovitz.
Malkovitz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Maia jumps into side control!
Malkovitz bucks up and tries to throw Maia off but instead Maia has got his back!

and Maia counters with a takedown into side control.
Malkovitz tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Maia easily slips into full mount!
Malkovitz wants to get back to his feet.

Maia wants to finish this one by submission but Malkovitz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Maia.

Malkovitz is looking to improve his position but Maia isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Malkovitz tries to lock up and control but Maia gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Maia looking to secure an arm triangle but Malkovitz defends it well.
Maia manages to capitalize on a mistake by Malkovitz to take his back!
Malkovitz trying to control the position but Maia manages to sink in the hooks.
Maia has the hooks in. Malkovitz is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Malkovitz controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Maia working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Malkovitz is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Maia has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Malkovitz taps out!
