Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jarkko Lato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Oshiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oshiro has chosen Walk it Out as his entrance music. Jarkko Lato has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Trey Oshiro!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lato shoots in for a double leg but Oshiro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Oshiro enables Lato to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oshiro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Oshiro wants to stand but Lato is controlling the position.

Oshiro is looking to stand up but Lato isn't so interested in that idea.
Lato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oshiro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Oshiro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lato. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lato is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lato missing with a left hand there. Oshiro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Oshiro looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Oshiro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Oshiro is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Oshiro lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Lato backwards.
Lato tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Oshiro just stands there and leans against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lato jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oshiro walks away with a smile on his face. Lato gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lato shoots in but Oshiro avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Oshiro moves in looking to clinch but Lato pushes him off.

Lato throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oshiro's waist but Oshiro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lato off to one side.
Oshiro lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

No joy there for Oshiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lato decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lato is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Oshiro sees it coming and defends easily.
Lato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Trey Oshiro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Oshiro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
