Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gonzo Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Sheppards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Gonzo Jackman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gonzo Jackman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gonzo Jackman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Sheppards! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackman misses with a body shot.
Sheppards swings and misses with a shot to the body enabling Jackman to counter with a crisp jab. Jackman slips under a jab from Sheppards. A shot to the liver by Sheppards. Beautiful body shot. Sheppards fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackman manages to avoid it. Jackman dodges the punch combination from Sheppards.
Sheppards lands a jab to Jackman's midsection. Jackman cracks Sheppards with a right hand to the side of the head. Jackman misses the shot to the body. Jackman connects with a body shot that sends Sheppards's belly button to the back. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sheppards has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Sheppards misses with a looping left. Carl Sheppards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A right-left combo lands from Sheppards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sheppards pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jackman lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A right-left combo lands from Jackman.
It looks like Carl Sheppards has been cut. Jackman connects with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sheppards misses with a series of wild punches.

and Jackman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jackman darts in looking for a takedown but Sheppards gets double underhooks and turns Jackman into the cage. Sheppards breaks from the clinch.
Sheppards closes the distance and clinches up with Jackman, looking for a takedown. Sheppards pushes Jackman against the cage but Jackman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sheppards shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jackman gets full guard. Sheppards controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Sheppards trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sheppards trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sheppards is looking to pass into half guard but Jackman pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jackman is in guard.
Jackman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sheppards has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackman has managed to get both his arms back between Sheppards's legs - danger averted. Jackman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sheppards keeping moving, preventing Jackman from controlling successfully. Jackman won't allow Sheppards to sweep him here. Sheppards is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sheppards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sheppards can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackman controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sheppards is looking for a triangle but Jackman pushes his legs off easily.
Jackman trying to control the position from guard on top but Sheppards is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sheppards wants to sweep but no luck. Sheppards manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackman manages to get himself to full guard.
Sheppards postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sheppards, into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sheppards preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jackman prevents Sheppards from getting back to his feet. Sheppards keeping moving, preventing Jackman from controlling successfully. Sheppards trying to control the position.
Jackman trying to control but Sheppards is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Carl Sheppards will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Carl Sheppards's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gonzo Jackman is winning the standup battle so far. Sheppards shoots in but Jackman avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jackman misses with a body shot.
Sheppards fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackman manages to avoid it. Sheppards shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sheppards looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackman wants to control but Sheppards is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sheppards thows a huge punch but Jackman dodges it nicely.
Jackman is defending against the submission attempts here by Sheppards.
Sheppards is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sheppards. Sheppards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jackman sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sheppards missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jackman moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sheppards looking to sit in guard and control but Jackman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sheppards looking for a guillotine here but Jackman defends easily.
Sheppards trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackman trying to control but Sheppards is working from the bottom. Sheppards controls Jackman momentarily but Jackman frees himself. Sheppards has his feet on Jackman's thighs here. He's pushed Jackman off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jackman screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
