Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel's entrance music is Mudvayne-Fall Into Sleep. A fine choice. Kirk Angel has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angel has his takedown stuffed
and Carwin counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Kirk Angel has been cut.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Angel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carwin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carwin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Angel.
Angel shoots for a double leg takedown but Carwin sprawls well. He's pushed Angel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirk Angel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Angel tries to close the distance and clinch but Carwin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Angel is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Carwin is defending well.
Angel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Carwin uses from the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carwin in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Carwin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd cheers as Carwin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Angel doesn't seem phased though.

Angel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Angel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
