Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angel's entrance music is Mudvayne-Fall Into Sleep. A fine choice. Kirk Angel has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angel has his takedown stuffed and Carwin counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Kirk Angel has been cut. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Angel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carwin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carwin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. No luck with that takedown attempt from Angel. Angel shoots for a double leg takedown but Carwin sprawls well. He's pushed Angel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirk Angel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Angel tries to close the distance and clinch but Carwin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Angel moves into the clinch successfully.
Angel is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Carwin is defending well. Angel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Carwin uses from the top position. Carwin advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carwin in particular looking to stall. Let's hope that Carwin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Angel's coaches at Rape Academy have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Carwin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Angel pushes Carwin off and gets back to his feet. Carwin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The crowd cheers as Carwin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Angel doesn't seem phased though. Carwin tries to bum rush Angel with a series of wild strikes but Angel uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Angel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carwin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Angel shoots for a double leg takedown but Carwin sprawls well. Angel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Angel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Angel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Angel throwing shots but Carwin is blocking nicely. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Carwin's corner calls for a 1-2. Carwin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Carwin throws a sloppy head kick and Angel moves out of range easily. A jab from Carwin misses. Hector Carwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carwin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Angel. No luck with that takedown attempt from Angel. Angel is breathing heavily. Angel misses with a wild combination.
Angel misses with a takedown and Carwin counters with a crisp right that sends Angel to the canvas! Carwin follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
