PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Asher Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hendo Bendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bendo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by No Falter. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Asher Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hendo Bendo!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bendo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.
Asher Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee thuds a left hand into Bendo's body.
Bendo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lee.
Bendo looks winded!
Lee thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lee has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Warehouse in the buildup to the fight.
Bendo slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
Left hook, right uppercut from Lee.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bendo.
Lee gets back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lee seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bendo is one step ahead there.
Lee wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Lee lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lee slips nicely into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee wants to free his trapped foot but Bendo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lee tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bendo.
Lee controlling the action here.
Lee has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Bendo works to full guard.
Bendo is adopting a defensive guard.
Bendo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bendo is proving hard to escape from.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lee stands and steps away. Bendo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bendo misses with a double jab
and Lee counters with a right hand to the body.
Bendo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lee.
Lee misses with a wild body shot.
Bendo throws a series of punches but Lee avoids them all with ease.
Lee lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A punch combination from Bendo misses.
Lee with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A punch combination from Bendo misses.
A combination from Lee does no damage.
Sloppy strikes from Lee. Those never looked like landing.
Bendo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bendo. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee lands a lovely overhand right.

Bendo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lee throws the left hand but Bendo avoids the punch easily.
Lee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bendo takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bendo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bendo walks into a left hand.
Good exchange - Lee coming out on top.
Bendo shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lee lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bendo.
Lee throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bendo takes one on the button.
Lee pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Good work by Bendo as he checks the leg kick.
Bendo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Asher Lee dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Bendo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Lee fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lee scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Bendo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lee counters with a head kick. That will keep Bendo thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Decent striking displayed by Lee there.
Lee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bendo can do to turn this around?
Bendo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lee throws a shot from downtown. Bendo moves away and avoids it.
Lee moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Bendo is rocked!
Bendo misses with the combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Bendo is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him?
Bendo walks straight into a right hand from Lee - that's dropped him! Lee jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bendo from any more punishment! Bendo complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Asher Lee!
