The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bryant counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Willis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bryant sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Willis somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Bryant. No joy for Willis on that attempt.
Gerbert Bryant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Willis.
Willis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bryant defends well and Willis ends up having to push Bryant into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bryant enables Willis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bryant manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bryant seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Willis pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Willis lands a heavy elbow.
Bryant could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Willis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bryant scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Willis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Willis stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Patrick Willis!
In defeat, Gerbert Bryant stepped up to the mic, saying 'Good fight, but now my wife's probably gonna cuckold me with my opponent, and man that's gonna suck'.
