Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pinkynho Romeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alkofer walks into a straight right hand from Romeiro.
Romeiro fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Romeiro lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Romeiro misses with an attempted mid kick.
Romeiro is looking to slow Alkofer down with leg kicks.
Romeiro looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Romeiro connects with a solid leg kick.
No joy there for Romeiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Romeiro takes a swing at Alkofer's ribcage but misses.
Romeiro stuffs the takedown.

Alkofer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Romeiro looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Romeiro is looking to regain half guard here but Alkofer keeps moving and retains side control.
Romeiro wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Alkofer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Romeiro sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
My spies in Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym inform me that Alkofer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Romeiro is not content to let Alkofer control the position.
Alkofer throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Alkofer is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Romeiro is trying to escape and Alkofer transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Romeiro is forced to tap! Nice work there by Alkofer! Very nice indeed!
