Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rand shoots in and drives through. Cortez sprawls well.
Cortez throws a head kick but Rand moves out of range.
Rand fails with the takedown.
Cortez lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Both fighters circling a little - Cortez finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Good leg kick by Cortez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Rand shoots for a takedown but Cortez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rand had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cortez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rand Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cortez's back instead.

Rand is persistently looking for the submission but Cortez is defending it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rand is trying to stick to Cortez's back but Cortez is turning into Rand. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rand's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cortez.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rand closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rand shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cortez as he avoids it easily.

Danny Rand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rand looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cortez!
Rand is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Rand looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cortez is fending him off so far but Rand persists. Nope, Cortez circles away and we're back to standing.
Cortez tries a head kick but it misses.
Rand dodges the punch combination from Cortez.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rand crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cortez - the referee stops the clock and Rand gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cortez. Rand manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rand is looking to clinch.
Rand jabbing away but nothing is landing.
