Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Singh comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Never Been by Dub Phizix & Fox kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Junior Singh! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Singh explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Heath's jab looks to have found its range, popping Singh under the eye. Singh throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Singh fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Heath moves into the clinch successfully.

Singh tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Heath avoids it. Heath blocks a body shot from Singh. Singh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've been hearing reports that Heath has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Heath paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Singh lands with a hook. Heath tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Singh connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Nice body kick there by Singh. Heath moves into the clinch. Heath lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Singh. Singh throws a head punch that misses. Nice body punch from Heath - that landed with a thud.

Singh is looking to break free of the clinch but Heath has double underhooks. Singh wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Heath lands with a left to the head. A nice right hand lands inside from Heath. Heath lands a nice uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Heath fails to land. A nice left hand lands by Heath.
Singh has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Heath seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Singh can turn it around. Singh goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Singh works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Heath swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Singh misses with a double jab.

Heath takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Heath fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Singh, pushing him back against the cage. Heath blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A short uppercut from Heath. Singh tries to break the clinch but Heath is controlling the position. Heath effectively controlling the action here. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Heath creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Singh misses with a punch on the inside.
Heath digs a right hand underneath Singh's ribcage. Singh let out a lung full of air as it connected. Heath throws a head punch that misses. Heath taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
A shot in the inside from Heath. Singh tries to break free but Heath pushes him back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Heath as Singh tries to tie him up. Heath lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Heath tries to work over Singh's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Heath just misses with a elbow thrown towards Singh's brow. Singh misses with a hook to the ribs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Singh tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Heath's elbow. Singh looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Heath blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Heath tries to close the distance and clinch but Singh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Heath tests Singh's chin there with a solid looking shot. Singh just misses with a punch to the body.

Heath tries to close the distance and clinch up but Singh swats him away and circles back towards the center. Singh misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Singh lands a lovely overhand right. Heath is looking to clinch. Heath moves in looking to clinch but Singh pushes him off. Singh connects with a body shot. Singh looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Heath lands with a right hand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Singh connects with a body shot that sends Heath's belly button to the back. Singh thows a body kick. Heath tries to catch it but that hurt him. Heath works Singh's body with a nice hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heath wants to clinch. Heath avoids the head kick by Singh.
Heath is looking to counter with a shot to the body. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Heath crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Singh - the referee stops the clock and Heath gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Singh. Heath manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Singh moves out of range as Heath strikes. Singh doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Oliver Heath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Heath throws a hook to the side of Singh's head but Singh sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A chopping leg kick lands by Singh. Singh scores with a kick to the midsection. Heath walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Heath throws out a loose jab but Singh uses good head movement to avoid it. Heath connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Donk. Heath catches Singh right on the button with a cross. Heath throws a big shot that misses. Heath misses with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Heath moves out of range of the body kick. Heath has Singh up against the cage in a clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Oliver Heath will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Heath shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Singh sprawls well. Singh wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Heath gets slowly back to his feet. Singh throws a low kick but it's checked well by Heath. Heath fails in his attempt to clinch. Heath takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Heath will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Heath throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Singhs head. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Singh tries to break free but Heath pushes him back against the cage. Heath makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Heath keeps control of Singh as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A short right hand to the side of the head by Heath. Singh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Singh. Heath shrugs it off though. Heath avoids the head kick by Singh.

Heath lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Heath throws a big uppercut that drops Singh! More strikes from Heath and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Singh lies dazed against the cage as Heath celebrates with his cornermen!
