Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Anderson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Anderson! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collins drives through and clinches with Anderson against the cage.
Collins tries for a takedown. No joy.
A shot in the inside from Anderson. Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Collins has him pressed against the cage. Collins can't get the takedown.
Collins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Anderson pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Collins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anderson has had enough of the clinch but Collins keeps him there for the moment. Anderson can't break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Collins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Collins lands with some strikes. Anderson is trying desperately to improve position. Anderson is in a horrible position here. Collins smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Anderson is squirming around, avoiding Collins's attempts to control the action. Anderson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Collins with shots to the head and body - Anderson looks very uncomfortable down there. Collins raining down shots from the mount! Collins avoids the attempt from Anderson to control. Collins unloading with bombs! Collins landing punches. Collins fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brian Collins dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A telegraphed right hand from Anderson misses the target. Anderson closes the distance but Collins moves to the side and Collins counters with a single leg into guard. Anderson didn't expect that. Anderson working a defensive guard here.

Collins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Anderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Collins is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Anderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Collins's back instead. Collins tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Collins wants to control but Anderson is having none of it. Collins gets back to half guard. Anderson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Collins missing with punches from the bottom.
Collins is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Collins is looking to control Anderson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Collins avoid being mounted? The fighters are battling for position here. Collins manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Collins wants to sweep but no luck. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. No joy there for Anderson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Anderson thows a left - swing and a miss! Collins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Collins working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Collins scoring with punches and elbows. Anderson tries to improve position but can't. Anderson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Collins is chipping away with strikes.
Collins landing a few strikes. Collins is working to tighten is grip on Anderson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Anderson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Collins is really squeezing tight and eventually Anderson passes out! Collins breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
