Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rupert Psmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrence Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thornton has chosen Pusha T - Exodus 23:1 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rupert Psmith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terrence Thornton! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thornton connects with a jab. Psmith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Psmith moves out of range of the leg kick from Thornton. Psmith appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Thornton throws a leg kick but Psmith checks it. A quick step to the side and Psmith tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Thornton throws a leg kick that misses. Psmith is looking to counter punch. Thornton throws a lazy right hand but Psmith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Thornton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Psmith's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Psmith is on top in guard.
Thornton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Thornton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Psmith not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Psmith trying to control but Thornton is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thornton managing to control the position. Psmith postures up.
Thornton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Psmith is one step ahead there. Thornton managing to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Thornton keeping moving, preventing Psmith from controlling successfully. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Thornton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Psmith's guard. Thornton trying to control but Psmith is working from the bottom. Thornton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Thornton throws an elbow that misses. Psmith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Thornton's guard. Nice move by Psmith! Psmith throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thornton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Psmith stacks Thornton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Psmith! Thornton is looking for a sweep. Thornton is still trying to improve position. Psmith trying to control the position but Thornton is working away. Thornton is looking to regain half guard here but Psmith keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Thornton looking for a sweep but Psmith has passed into full mount! Oh no! Thornton tries to lock up and control but Psmith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Thornton really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Psmith looking to control but Thornton is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Psmith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terrence Thornton dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Thornton checks a low kick from Psmith. A low kick from Thornton misses letting Psmith counter with a right hand. Thornton throws a head kick that misses. As Thornton looks to move away, Psmith throws a big counter combo bu Thornton just gets out of the way. A solid leg kick lands there for Thornton.
Psmith tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Thornton is able to avoid easily. Thornton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Psmith sees it coming and avoids it easily. Thornton lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Thornton throws a head kick but Psmith moves out of range.
A shot to the body from Psmith misses and Thornton counters with a big head kick but Psmith shrugs it off. Psmith checks a leg kick. Psmith throws a one two combo.
It looks like Terrence Thornton has been cut. A leg kick checked by Psmith. Terrence Thornton seems to be getting the better of the standup. Psmith tries to move into range but Thornton moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Thornton clobbers Psmith with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. We've been told by Psmith's head coaches at Slaughterhouse MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Psmith throws a low kick but Thornton moves out of range easily. Psmith drops his hands momentarily and Thornton takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Terrence Thornton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thornton goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Thornton tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Psmith looks to score with a jab to the body but Thornton is just out of range. Psmith lands a nice leg kick that just misses Thornton's sensitive parts. A jab from Thornton does it's job there.
Psmith is rocked! Psmith gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Thornton gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Terrence Thornton! An out of breath Terrence Thornton thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
